The first evidence of wine dates to c. 7000 BC, somewhere in China & oldest known winery was discovered in the “Areni-1” cave in Vayots Dzor, Armenia. It is estimated to date back to 4100 BC & contained a wine press, fermentation vats, jars, & cups. We’re willing to bet that one of its first customers was a glorious, break seeking, wine thirsty mother who couldn’t wait to ease the tensions of parenting some 6000 years ago. For the sake of history, we’ll assume that MomWine was born the moment that her lips hit the rim of the goblet.

In early 2017, we decided to give MomWine the formal representation Moms collectively know it deserves & launched a website & social movement dedicated to reviewing fine wines while discussing the trials & tribulations Mothers face throughout every stage of raising a child in today’s ever changing world.

Our growing web community cannot be denied, but MomWine-San Francisco, the pioneer MomWine collective meets in person on the 1st Wednesday of every month. “Wine Wednesday” as we call it is an opportunity to review a wealth of phenomenal wines in person with a highly-curated (wink) “come one come all” group of local Moms. We range from bad-ass stay-at-home, to Fortune 500 C-level vipers. We love being Mothers & adore our wines.

We’re always looking to expand the MomWine network while minimizing regional conflicts. If you are interested in leading a local collective please use this form & apply. Expanding our footprint benefits all & parenting tips & original content contributions are always welcome.
